GENERAL: We need to find ways of letting more people know about this important work and of giving them the opportunity to support it. Anyone can help us with this! All you need is passion and caring for veterans, and family, friends, colleagues and neighbors who are also concerned and willing to listen. Can you connect us with people in your extended community who would like to support us? Or who are connected to foundations? Or who work for corporations whose charitable giving arms support veterans? Please let us know via the contact page.
GRANT WRITING: Volunteers in this area would research foundations and their giving critieria, and would provide us with lists of foundations that it would be appropriate for us to approach; volunteers would also take existing HPW LOI’s and proposals and develop new ones relevant to these foundations.
GRAPHIC ART: We need help developing professional event flyers and brochures for prospective donors. We’d also love help with our website.
COMMUNICATIONS: We need to develop an outreach strategy to let Post 9-/11 and Persian Gulf veterans know about the services we offer. We would like help in identifying and contacting organizations that serve veterans and who would post our events to their websites, calendars, newsletters and Facebook pages. Research may involve online searches, visiting local VA centers and other military organizations in the Bay Area.
DATABASE DEVELOPMENT: Volunteers would be familiar with Filemaker Pro and would help u set up and maintain a database of veterans and donors.
ACCOUNTING: Volunteers in this area would help us set up and maintain accounting records suitable for a nonprofit of our size.
